If you have ever thought about it, but weren't sure, then all I can say is do it, do it now and dont look back. I think the "is there, isnt there" duel between the Count and Albert de Morcerf really gripped me and had me sitting in the car outside work so I could hear how it ended. See above! I think if I had read this rather than listened to Bill Homewood's narration I wouldnt have made it through the book. After a hair-raising escape, he launches an elaborate plot to extract a bitter revenge against those who betrayed him. I started speaking like a 19th century french after a few days listening. Falsely accused during the final days of Napoleons reign, Edmond Dant ès is imprisoned in the bleak Chateau dIf. He can immerse you and drag you in to the story in a way no other narrator has ever done (for me anyway). You instantly recognise each character the minute he start's speaking. I found the ebook advertised with a price of practically nothing and a page count of 486. Pretty certain I already knew that, at least deep down where I need not produce proof, I went straight to Amazon.
